Our Team
Jean Machado
Owner, Painter
Jean was born and raised in Cuba. He started his carpentry business at the age of 20 while attending college in his hometown. Jean’s works ranged from kitchen cabinets, closets, furniture to doors and other small carpentry jobs. He came to the United States looking for better opportunities and started his own painting business in 2016. This idea started while working in a maintenance job under a school system in the state of Kentucky, which required previous job skills such as carpentry and painting. This led Jean to get the certifications required to start his painting business. The kids at the school called Jean “Big J” and this is how Big J Painting adopted its name.
Jean lives in Lexington, KY and when he’s not painting he enjoys watching baseball, going to the gym and spending time with his family and friends.
