We painted & stained an exterior pergola on the back of a Country style home off Todds Road, in Lexington KY. We painted the pergola columns and top, and stained the deck floors with a solid stain.
A solid stain is in the middle ground between paint and regular or semi-transparent stain in that it seeps into wood more than paint, but not as much as regular stain. Solid stain creates a solid-colored coating on wood without completely obscuring the underlying grain.
