Date: February 2024
When we provide drywall repair we takes careful steps to first fix the damaged areas and imperfections in drywall surfaces, and then work to matching the paint, texture and surface for a seamless better-than-new approach. Our goals is that you won’t be able to tell where the damage was or where the repair was made.
First we clear the area around the damaged drywall and cover any nearby surfaces or furniture with drop cloths to protect them from dust and debris. The we fill small holes with spackle or lightweight joint compound with a putty knife.
For larger holes, we cut out the damaged area to create a clean, rectangular shape. We create a new patch from new drywall slightly larger than the hole, secure it to the studs behind the wall using drywall screws, and cover the seams with drywall tape and joint compound.
For hairline cracks, we widen the crack slightly with a utility knife and fill it with joint compound using a putty knife. Then we smooth the surface and allow it to dry before sanding.
Once dried completely, our team will sand the patched area smooth using fine-grit sandpaper. Then we can feather the edges to blend them with the surrounding wall. After we clean and wipe away any dust with a damp cloth.
The final step is priming and painting of the area of repair. First we apply a coat of primer to the repaired area to seal the surface and ensure good paint adhesion. Once the primer is dry, we will paint the repaired area to match the surrounding wall, feathering the paint out slightly to blend it with the rest of the wall.
