Client: Hartland Hills by Atria Senior Living, Lexington KY
Category: Commercial Interior Painting of a Nursing Home
Date: November 2023
We provided an interior painting services for the Hartland Hills senior living in Lexington KY. Using an electric scissor lift, we were able to paint all three levels and the ceilings of the three-level open sunlit atrium. We use an electric scissor lift because they are quiet, don’t emit fumes, have wide work platforms with railings that offer our team safety and improved access to high ceilings, open floorplans.
We painted the walls, ceilings, railings, doors and trim with neutral grays and blues to offer a soothing, calming atmosphere in this nursing home and senior living complex. When selecting paint colors for nursing homes, neutral wall colors are winners for their calming nature. Additionally, nursing homes can benefit from warm accents in browns and oranges to create a “homey” environment or pastels to exude serenity and peace.
The filigree wood design on the cafeteria and activity rooms were cleaned and stained. We also took in consideration the types of paints and stains we used. In most nursing and/or medical settings, the recommendation is to use low-to-no VOC paints. These are specifically designed to have little to no fumes or odors that could be hazardous, or at the very least, unpleasant to the patients and staff. In an assisted living facility, many of the residents have compromised or sensitive respiratory systems, which can be aggravated by strong odors.
